POSITION SUMMARY

The warehouse packer is responsible for packing orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring no errors are made in the process. Packing ensures all orders are initialed and warehouse notes are read, and directions are clearly followed. Packing support is responsible for preparing pallets ready for shipping per company procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Maintain 2,000 pieces per day packing minimum
  • Learn AX (computer software) to process packing orders
  • Prepare pallets for transition to shipping area
  • Learn special packing procedures for customer demands, paying attention to details and reading packing descriptions to ensure order is processed correctly.
  • Correcting packing mistakes within the computer software (AX), and process information for the pack lanes
  • Pick missing pieces from orders not completed to ensure order gets completed correctly
  • Eventually documenting information dealing with packer stats, order distribution while maintaining performance goals.
  • Ensuring boxes and labels have a steady flow of work
  • Communicating with shipping clerk to assure all sales orders are complete for customer demand.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the warehouse
  • Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work
  • Ensuring all picked orders are processed in a timely manner with no errors
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate packing functions
  • Ensuring all orders are initialed and warehouse notes are read, and directions are clearly followed
  • Ensuring all packed orders are processed accurately with no errors
  • Utilize Scanners and the Warehouse Management System
  • Assisting other areas when needed
  • Any other job duty assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Able to solve problems and make decisions on the fly
  • Able to multi-task and be a quick learner
  • Must have efficient counting skills
  • Excel and work knowledge

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Use rolling safety stairs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend/squat/kneel as needed
